“My 91 year old father, who is a stroke patient, came to live with me and my husband 3 years ago after my mother passed away. We struggled weekly to get him to take a bath with assistance by my husband. On the agreed scheduled day for bathing, my father would “feel bad” and negotiate a later date. Bathing a partly paralyzed, uncooperative adult is not easy. So last fall when my husband and I were going to travel overseas for our 25th wedding anniversary, we needed help. Our son was coming to live at our house to take care of my father . It was not appropriate for our son to bathe his grandfather.
