Yes. When picking your loved one's provider of in-home care in Rock Hill, one of the first things you need to make sure is that their staff are fully insured and bonded. Why? Well, without this reassurance in place, your loved one, who could potentially be vulnerable, isn't automatically protected against any theft or damage in their own home.
We also provide all of our staff with Worker's Compensation not only to make sure that they receive the appropriate amount of financial aid in the event of them injuring themselves while working on behalf of the company but also to protect seniors from being liable for paying any damages.
Unlike many independent providers, we can guarantee that all of our staff have been fully vetted before they begin working on behalf of Always Best Care.
This process involves interviews, a criminal background check, and a random drug screening so that we can be sure that our senior care in Rock Hill is one you can trust.
12 am to 12 pm. That's right, we're open for business 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. While on paper we'd agree with you that this does seem a little mad, we find that many seniors still require home care in Rock Hill all through the night.
Very often older age leads to a disrupted sleeping pattern, which can lead to seniors wanting to get up in the middle of the night to go to the washroom or even to make some food.
The good news is that with our fully flexible service, we can be there whenever your loved one most needs us.
Yes. We believe that caregiving should always be a friendship, so we make sure that every senior has their own designated caregiver to provide their elderly care in Rock Hill.
Over time, the trust that will develop between the two with help to make the whole experience of having a caregiver one that your loved one enjoys rather than dreads.
We should note that on occasions when your loved one's caregiver becomes ill or goes on vacation, we will, for rather obvious reasons, have to arrange for a substitute caregiver in their absence. Although this can seem daunting, the substitute will be made fully aware of every last detail of your loved one's care, so everything will still run like clockwork.
We take into considerations a host of factors when matching seniors to their eventual caregiver. There's the obvious practical reasons, such as how far away the senior lives from the caregiver, and the more theoretical reasons such as whether the two share similar interests.
By matching up the later, we often find that many of the relationships we put together for our in-home care in Rock Hill get off on the right foot.
Of course, we don't always get it right, so if your loved one does want a change of caregiver, just ask.
We train every new employee we take on here at Always Best Care, regardless of their experience, so that we can feel confident that their standards of home care in Rock Hill match up to ours. Initially, we focus on three main areas:
Once in the role, every caregiver has to take part in annual top-up training, where they are taught about new caregiving techniques and equipment that could improve the life of the person they're responsible for looking after.
We completely understand that you'll want to shop around to find the best deal for your loved one's elderly care in Rock Hill, but we would advise you not to view purchasing caregiving in the same light as buying a product.
If the latter is faulty or doesn't work in the way you expect it to, you'll be the first to realize, but because caregiving involves someone looking after your loved one when you're not around, it can be hard to spot whether or not a caregiver's services are up to the standards you would expect.
At Always Best Care, we take those worries away by providing fully vetted, insured, bonded, trained, and monitored staff.
We like to move quickly at Always Best Care, as we understand that families sometimes require our home care in Rock Hill out of an immediate necessity rather than choice.
To help make the process as smooth as possible, we offer a 168-hour turnaround time from the first moment you call us to the moment your loved one's caregiver walks through their front door for their first visit.
We're able to offer such a quick turnaround time thanks to our experience and expertise in the industry, which we have built up over the last 20 years.
Family always comes first in the caregiving process, so whatever your wants or needs are, we'll always do our best to match them.
Remember, thanks to your 24-hour opening hours, you can choose our in-home care in Rock Hill to fit around your lifestyle.
You can spend countless hours reading online about all of the different home care options for your loved one, but sometimes, it's better just to have a quick chat.
In as little as half an hour, we can fill you in on every last detail of our care, including our transparent pricing, so you quickly decide whether our in-home care in Rock Hill is the right choice for your loved one.
Any sort of fall can have potentially serious consequences for a senior, so we take every step that we can to help reduce the risk of your loved one having an accident while in our care.
We'll carry out a full risk assessment of your loved one's home before we begin our home care in Rock Hill. In our final report, we'll offer advice on ways to make the home more senior friendly, which can be anything as little as adding a bedside lamp to reduce the risk of them falling when they get out of bed in the middle of the night.
Our caregivers also continually monitor a senior's mobility, and they will offer assistance in cases where a senior isn't 100% confident on their feet. Walking assistance items, such as wheelchairs, walkers, or canes, may also be advised or used while in our care.
No. Our senior care in Rock Hill has been designed to be open to everyone that needs it, so we don't ask anyone to sign up to any long term contracts or make them agree to a minimum number of hours of care.
This way, even if you need some assistance for just one hour a month getting your loved one tucked into bed on an evening, one of our fully vetted, trained, and friendly caregivers will be there.
Yes. To help provide families with additional support, we have a specially trained group of dementia caregivers that are well versed in every aspect of the condition. As a result, you can rely on them to provide comforting in-home care in Rock Hill to your loved one living with dementia.
If angels existed, they would be in the form of caregivers. They carry out a whole range of duties on behalf of seniors all over York County on a daily basis. To give you just some idea of how they could help make a difference to your loved one's life, we've compiled a list of nine tasks that our caregivers carry out while providing in-home care in Rock Hill, below:

Phil Davidson with Always Best Care was an answer to prayers! After unexpectedly losing my dad and have my mom move in with us (and being new to the area), I didn't know where to start in finding the right new home for my mom. A friend recommended Phil to us and after my first phone conversation, I was instantly at ease knowing I had a knowledgeable caring partner in this important search. He was always available and prompt in answering my endless questions. I was amazed at the time and effort he put in to our search never pressing me in a particular direction but guiding me based on our budget and priorities. He was also wonderful in connecting me to other professionals from the Veteran's Administration to Financial experts to help with other areas where we had questions. After many months, we did find the right fit for my mom and I owe that to Phil. Phil, know that I am always happy to be a reference and talk/email with anyone. Thank you again and I appreciate your follow up on Mama. I know there is an adjustment period and especially with the new facility as it fills :) It's priceless having her so close!

I can honestly say that Always Best Care in Rock Hill did a very good job with providing home assistance with my mother and I am happy to recommend their services to others. The home care assistantswere friendly, patient, and respectful. Above all, I was extremely pleased with the active role the president, Phil Davidson, took in my mother's care. He was exceptional at balancing professionalism and personal concern as he took a genuine interest in my mother's well-being, he checked in periodically to see how the home care was going, and he diligently communicated with both family and staff. Phil's efforts and those of the ABC staff are very much appreciated.

Phil, I just wanted to recount to you what my Mother told me on the phone this morning about your employee, and my parent's caretaker, Vicky Jo. Vicky Jo started with my parents in March of 2012, during a very difficult time. My father had fallen and broken his neck, on top of coping with Parkinson's. My mother took care of him, as well as their home and while we could help some, the day to day chores took a toll on her. We were afraid we were going to lose her health as well. In a huge stroke of luck, we were able to find a two-bedroom apartment at Chandler Place which would provide meals and emergency response services, alleviating a good bit of my mom's responsibilities and stress. In an even bigger stroke of luck, we began using Vicky Jo two hours every morning to help my father with bathing and dressing. In the months that followed, Vicky Jo has not only provided physical support, but significant moral support to both my parents. She is very capable, upbeat and genuine. My mother is absolutely devoted to her and feels she can trust her with anything. We couldn't be more grateful for her, and for you as well for providing her to us. I also want to take a moment to thank you, as you have gone above and beyond in your interaction and care of my parents. I can tell you truly care about my folks and their well being and it is such an amazing thing to see in this day and age when everything seems like it is only about the money. Blessing to you and your business. I know that you will be a God Send to other families as well and I wish you the best. Please know that if you are ever in need of a referral, I would be delighted to provide one for you.

Dear Always Best Care, We just wanted to let you know how much we valued your respite care services when we were keeping a family member in our care who had developed Alzheimer's. The time away was a Godsend to us. Your people were caring and well-prepared and they provided us with the chance to have a meal, see a movie, and catch a breath from the daily 24/7 care we were providing. We have been delighted to recommend your agency to our friends and would not hesitate to call on you again if the need arises." ~James and Chris K.

Dear Phil, "We would like to thank you and your staff for providing such wonderful live-in care for our Grandfather from June through October 2013. Our family found ourselves in the most unimaginable situation when our Grandmother was unexpectedly hospitalized in late May and ultimately passed away in June. As you know, she was the sole caregiver for our Grandfather who has severe Alzheimer's disease. We are so very fortunate that we discovered your agency! You were able to promptly place qualified caregivers in his home and this gave our family immediate peace of mind. The level of care and compassion that you and your caregivers demonstrated toward our Grandfather is more than we ever anticipated and we will be forever grateful. You all walked with him through the terrible tragedy of losing his wife of 67 years. You and your staff provided extraordinary physical and emotional care for him through his grief and made getting him back to a "normal" life your top priority upon her death. In addition to the care you all provided my Grandfather, you were so kind to help educate us on the progression of Alzheimer's. You were a wonderful resource to us on what to expect in the next phases of this disease and help us plan for long-term care for him. While we are very sad to have to place him in a memory care-assisted living facility, we made the decision knowing that this will be the best place for him as he ages and his disease worsens. Your guidance and expertise in helping us choose the right facility for him helped make this daunting task bearable. Thank you again for all that you have done for our grandfather and for our family! We will be forever grateful! Sincerely, ~Ashley S. & Shay L.

It is never easy to accept that a loved one may no longer be able to care for themselves. This was the case with our dear Aunt. She suddenly became ill, and we found that she had signs of beginning dementia. She had always been fiercely independent and perfectly capable of maintaining a home, and when she was no longer able to carry the responsibility for either herself or for her older sister, the responsibility fell to us. Like most who find themselves in this situation, we had no idea where to turn. The first caregiver we hired was just not dependable. As the level of care needed increased, it became harder for her to provide the caliber of care we required for our lovely ladies. That is when we found Always Best Care. Phil came in and did an assessment of our needs, an inspection of the home, a list of proposed services, the costs of those services and a list of safety issues he noticed during his assessment. We were assigned a kind young woman who immediately took to our ladies. Caring for someone with dementia and another with profound hearing loss can be a challenge to anyone, but Beth showed extreme kindness, patience and caring with both our ladies. She cooked meals each night, and kept the home clean and organized. She made weekly grocery lists and helped each of the ladies do little things which made them feel needed and involved in the running of their home. We never once felt any concern and knew that Beth had their best interests at heart. She was very prompt and conscientious and never once let us down. She was very committed to our family, and we were blessed to have her for as long as we did. Phil made every effort to be sure we were always happy and satisfied with the level of care we received. He made unannounced visits during caregiver hours just to be sure everything was running as expected. When Beth was unable to be there, he made sure we had someone the ladies were familiar with to cover for her. In the event we ever find ourselves in need of caregiver services, we will most certainly contract Always Best Care and feel quite comfortable recommending them for anyone's caregiver needs. ~ Vic & Teresa

We used Always Best Care - Rock Hill for care with my mom who had dementia. From the first phone call to the last they were always there for our family. My family did not understand the progression of this disease and what my mother would face and what her needs would be as well as what we would face and how this would change our lives. While we were all together the Community Relations Director came to my home to explain to us what we would face. She did this on a Sunday afternoon, taking time away from her own family to help ours. The caregivers placed in mom's home allowed us as a family to go about our daily lives knowing that mom was well taken care of and loved. The time came when we had to make tough choices and they were there for us through every step of that journey. We as a family will always be grateful for the love and support we received during that time with mom. Had mom been herself she would have been grateful as well knowing that we had the guidance and support we needed when she was not able to do it. ~ Faith S. - Rock Hill

It was time to consider alternative living arrangements for my mom. She was living on her own in a single-family home that she loved. She was in need of assistance with daily household chores, driving, and managing daily functions. I was given Phil Davidson's name from a social worker. He explained that Phil (and his company Always Best Care), may be a good resource for me and my mom. We began with some in home care (3-5 days a week). Phil met my mom, established a great working relationship with her, and had one of his staff members become my mom's in home caregiver. Phil took the time to get to know my mom and aligned her needs and personality with the right person to help her. Eventually we needed to look for an Assisted Living community. Phil was there to guide us. He arranged meetings with a variety of communities and toured with them with us. Phil knew the right questions to ask and always kept my mom's wishes on his checklist. I especially liked that Phil does not get paid by us, but rather by the facility that we ended up choosing. Phil and his staff were great to work with. Exceptionally professional and understanding of my mom.
