Rain-apocalypse about to strike the Midlands! Our caregivers are prepared and help our in home care clients get ready too!

It’s October 2, 2015 and if you are in South Carolina, you’re probably going to get wet unless you stay inside all weekend… which is something most of our in home care clients do well. Weather reports are telling us all to prepare for historic levels of rain from Hurricane Joaquin. Overall, South Carolina is expecting 6-12 inches of rain and extensive flooding over the weekend and everyone is getting ready including our in-home care clients. Here in the Midlands of SC, over 8 inches is forecast.

Always Best Care caregivers are the best, keeping our in home care clients safe, even in historic levels of rain.
Rain or not… client safety comes first for our in home care clients.
Rain or not… client safety comes first for our in home care clients.

One of our in home care clients, who we’ll call Ms. Bee (not her real name), had her Always Best Care caregiver, Valerie, spend the shift today working to get her house ready. Ms. Bee was worried about one of her doors which has a tendency to let water in, so Valerie taped up a tarp and put sand bags to block that door. Then she made SURE that the Ms. Bee was able to access and go in and out of the other doors, just in case she should need to get out of the house. Plus, since Ms. Bee was worried she might not have access to clean water, Valerie collected drinking water in containers. Basically, Valerie spent her time today making sure Ms. Bee’s fears and concerns were put aside so that she felt safe. Helping our clients feel safe, whether there is a pending storm or not, is just part of what our amazing caregivers do everyday.

People often ask what we, our caregivers, do.
