2016 Always Best Care National Food Drive
The holidays are the symbol of chaotic family gatherings, the eagerness of opening gifts, the warmth of family and most of all — an overabundance of food. But it is not same for everyone. For many, the holidays mean another season of struggling to put together a modest meal.
In the year of 2015, 42.2 million people lived in food-insecure households, according to the US Department of Agriculture. The booming economy, which is bringing surging rents and other hardships, is making life more difficult for people. Many are compelled to live devoid of the necessities like healthy food. This is why the need for community food programs is growing. These programs are essential for the working poor — people who have employment and work hard, but who still do not earn enough money to feed their families.
The issues driving hunger are complicated and require work, time and efforts. But you can make your contribution by helping us feed people in need. Our vision as an organization has been to become a leader in senior care, yet we want to take this one-step further to help the local community. We want to be a community resource that people in need can rely on. For the first time, Always Best Care is partnering with YouGiveGoods to join the fight against hunger over the holidays. Give your input today and donate to a local charity!
