Our 3rd Year Anniversary Update

I can’t believe that I just renewed our Non-Medical Home Care License again! It seems the year has just flown by. We’ve grown our business organically this year – client by client! And have gone through a few other changes.

The Flood!

First, we started this year in February with our office getting flooded from a broken pipe in the sprinkler system, 2 stories above us. It was a frigid day, and I will never forget being on the phone and hearing this trickling sound. What started as a small trickle in our training room ended as an indoor downpour throughout our entire office space, taking down our ceiling within 20 minutes! Somehow we saved all of our computers, files and marketing materials. Most of our furniture ended up needing to be cleaned thoroughly, but was otherwise un-harmed. We lost our printer and a few chairs. Our landlord had smaller space a few doors down and we were back up and running full speed within 12 hours, albeit, more cramped and a little worn out! Because our entire back-office operation is cloud/web-based, and phone technology being what it is, there was no interruption to client service or caregiver support. Our original space was condemned, but we were finally able to move back in July – everything freshly painted, carpeted and just beautiful.

New Staff

As our business has grown, we have, of course, added many caring and wonderful caregivers to our ranks. But we also now have Nancy Scotti in the office as our office manager and scheduler. Nancy has close to 15-years’ experience working in non-medical homecare, and I have definitely benefited having her expertise on our team. Her work ethic and commitment has given me more time to focus on client service and outreach, and has positioned us to continue to grow our client base while maintaining our high standards for client and caregiver oversight and supervision.

Expanding our Reach

Around the same time as the flood, the area for Lower Fairfield County became available to me, and I started to expand our reach from the Milford Area and the Valley, down into Lower Fairfield County. Many of our caregivers are based out of Bridgeport and Norwalk, so taking on clients in Fairfield County has gone very smoothly, and we are well positioned to take on more at this time.

Assisted Living Placement Services

In addition to non-medical homecare, Always Best Care also helps families navigate the complexities of choosing an assisted living community. This area of the business is growing as well. More and more communities are going up in our area, and most families can really use some expert guidance on which communities are going to suit their budget, lifestyle and care needs over time. Most people also just need a basic orientation to what these communities offer and how assisted living compares to aging in place. We know homecare and assisted living. We offer our clients advice, accompany them on tours, and help them understand all their options. Call us if we can help!

Many Thanks!
Many thanks to everyone who has supported me as I have taking on this incredible challenge of owning Always Best Care. I feel so supported by our corporate office, our local area representative, Nancy in my office and the other Always Best Care owners in Connecticut. But I am especially grateful to everyone who has supported me with referrals! I genuinely LOVE coming to work each day, getting to know the people I serve, and being part of a wonderful eldercare community.
