Home Care Support: Get Involved with AARP Michigan’s Virtual Events

Even as Clinton Township reopens at full capacity, and our county’s immunization rate climbs higher every day, seniors still need to remain vigilant with COVID-19 precautions. And our home care team is here to help.

To that end, today’s post discusses some of the ways we’re helping seniors socialize safely by accessing AARP Michigan’s virtual event offerings from the comfort of home. Read on or call (586)-690-7500 to speak directly with a home care specialist in Clinton Township, MI.

As Clinton Township Reopens, Home Care Services Remain Committed To Keeping Seniors Safe

With 61.4% of Michigan residents having now received their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, Clinton Township is finally reopening to full capacity, putting an end to both masking requirements and gathering restrictions in most areas.

“Today is a day that we have all been looking forward to,” Michigan governor Whitmer said in a June 22nd briefing. “We can safely get back to normal day-to-day activities and put this pandemic behind us.”

That’s great news for home care givers and recipients alike, many of whom have reported high levels of pandemic fatigue, social isolation, and boredom after nearly two years of strict quarantine and contact restrictions.

But while we’re thrilled to say there’s light at the end of the tunnel, the pandemic’s not over yet—not for Clinton Township’s vulnerable senior population, at least.

According to the Center for Disease Control, fully vaccinated individuals “can resume activities that they did prior to the pandemic,” without wearing a mask or physically distancing, but that’s not the case for “people who have a condition or are taking medications that weaken the immune system,” the majority of whom are above the age of 65. The CDC recommends that these vulnerable individuals continue to take all precautions to prevent COVID-19, including social distancing, travel restrictions, masking, and frequent hand-sanitizing.

Until the pandemic threat period has completely passed, our home care team is here to help, delivering a complete continuum of COVID-safe senior care services to any care setting, and providing much-needed respite for family caregivers. And not only are we addressing seniors’ physical care needs; we’re also helping them reconnect with the community through easy access to AARP Michigan’s virtual event offerings.
