Red Cross Family Caregiver Program
Most Always Best Care offices are authorized providers of the Red Cross family caregiving program, providing quality health and safety services training in local communities. Whether for their own employees, volunteers, clients or members of the community, authorized providers have an obligation to provide the highest quality training possible. Certified instructors must complete required training and be authorized by a local Red Cross chapter.
Nearly one third of the population serves as a caregiver sometime in their lives, and many caregivers feel they are alone in this responsibility. The American Red Cross family caregiving program can help change that.
The program provides a framework for family members to gain perspective on what care giving for a senior would actually involve, and demonstrate safe ways to manage this situation. In addition, if the care situation becomes too difficult or overwhelming, the family may contact the Always best Care coordinator who facilitated their program to get additional help in the form of respite, hourly in-home, or even an assisted living referral services.
