Of course. Having fully insured and bonded staff that provide in-home care in Louisville and the surrounding community helps to protect vulnerable seniors against any theft or damage.
We also provide Worker's Compensation to our caregivers as well so that if they injure themselves while working, the person they're looking after is never liable for any damages.
Monday to Sunday, 12 am to 12 pm. Yes, we provide 24-hour in-home care in Louisville, as we understand that every senior's needs are different. One senior may need assistance going to the bathroom at two o'clock in the morning, while another may need some help making their lunch 12 hours later. Whatever the time, our team of reliable caregivers will always be there to help out your loved one when they most need it.
Yes. We always try to provide your loved one with the same caregiver so that they have the best chance of developing a positive relationship. The only occasion when this will not be the case is when your assigned caregiver is ill or on vacation. During these scenarios, a substitute caregiver that has been versed in your loved one's needs will take over.
If your loved one requires senior care in Louisville throughout the day and evening, a second or third caregiver will be involved in their daily care. This is to give each caregiver adequate time to rest in between shifts so that your loved one receives the attentive care they deserve.
Unlike some of our competitors, we believe in matching seniors to caregivers based on joint interests and physical requirements.
To find out a senior's hobbies or passions, we ask them or a family member to fill out a quick questionnaire before their care begins. From their answers, we will match them to the most appropriate caregiver, taking into account the physical capabilities of each caregiver.
We find that relationships between caregivers and seniors develop much more quickly when they have things in common. For example, if a senior is particularly keen making arts and crafts, it's fantastic to have someone that can help them to explore that passion further through learning new skills or trying out different bits of DIY. Our role as caregivers isn't just to help seniors in home care in Louisville with their physical needs: it's to help bring joy to their lives as well.
Finally, our matching process isn't perfect, so if at any point you or your loved one aren't 100% happy with your caregiver, just say. We can either work together to try and rectify any areas you feel like your current caregiver could improve on or try out an entirely new caregiver altogether.
Any new member of staff has to undergo a weeklong training course before they begin delivering senior care in Louisville for Always Best Care. During the week, they'll be expected to work on their communication skills and their ability to spot symptoms of illness.
Although this isn't a course you can pass or fail, if the teacher leading the week doesn't feel like an applicant is applying themselves correctly, they will be dismissed and their offer of work terminated.
Furthermore, once in the role, every employ of Always Best Care that delivers in-home care in Louisville has to undergo regular top-up training. This is just to ensure that they're aware of any new equipment or technology in the industry that could be of direct benefit to the person they're caring for.
While independent providers can initially seem attractive due to their lower costs, there are a couple of things to take into consideration.
Firstly, it's rare to find independent providers that have been vetted, bonded, insured, and trained. Trust is such an important aspect of elderly care in Louisville, but it's entirely up to you to decide whether you value it above cost.
It's also important to remember that our services are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. That means instead of worrying about whether your independent provider can cover a certain shift when you're away, you'll know that Always Best Care will always be a service you can rely on.
Family plays a much bigger role in a person's care than they often tend to realize. That's because care isn't just about helping someone get dressed in the morning – it's about making them smile as well. Your company provides a senior with the best medicine possible: joy, so we want you to be involved in their life as much as your time allows.
We understand that you can't always be there when you want to be, so we'll make sure we always have open lines of communication so that you're always aware of how your loved one is getting on with their home care in Louisville.
You can always get a good idea of what to expect from a company from reading their website and online reviews, but we really believe the best way to choose a provider of elderly care in Louisville is to meet them in person.
That's why we offer a free, no obligation consultation service, where families can come in for a chat and a cup of coffee and discuss their loved one's needs. We'll run you through everything we offer along with our pricing so you can come away with the knowledge of whether Always Best Care is the right choice for you and your family.
Every element of our care is based on a safety-first approach. We know how fragile seniors can be once they reach older age, so we train all of our caregivers to take a patient and gentle approach.
We always carry out a risk assessment of a senior's home before we begin our services so that we can advise on any areas that we feel could be made more safety conscious. Some common examples include:
We're also aware that our senior care in Louisville doesn't always end in the home, so if your loved one requires help with their food shopping or getting somewhere to meet a friend, their caregiver will be on hand to provide mobility assistance if required.
No. As we touched upon earlier, we want families to play as large a role in their loved one's care as possible. To make that a reality, we offer home care in Louisville that comes with no hourly minimum requirements and no long contracts. You simply pick and choose the time and place that suits you and your loved one and we will be there.
Yes. Our specially trained dementia caregiving team would love the opportunity to provide in-home care in Louisville for your loved one that lives with the condition. They've been trained in how to best respond to deal with certain behavioral traits of the disease. Their aim is always to provide comfort and reassurance so that a person living with dementia can live as normal a lifestyle as possible.
Ask almost any caregiver and they'll tell you that no two days are ever the same providing senior care in Louisville. Each senior's needs are different, so a caregiver has to be ready to provide a range of duties. Some examples include:
Yes. Many families choose to provide full-time care for their loved one, but there may be odd occasions where they can't cover a certain day or two due to other commitments.

We know that exceptional service sets us apart from all other home care companies. All of our team members and caregivers receive comprehensive training before being assigned to a care plan. Our standard is that "we only hire care providers we would have care for our own loved ones."

Dan Chitwood and his staff of experienced caregivers have been taking care of my dad who has alzheimers for about three years. The caregivers took care of cooking, personal care and did light housekeeping. They took him shopping with them for weekly groceries, took him to doctor visits and on outings to the neighborhood parks. The few times that a care giver would call in sick, if Dan couldn't fill the shift he would come work the shift himself. Dan Chitwood takes pride in offering quality care for his clients and we highly recommend Always Best Care. Many thanks to you Dan and your staff, especially to Debbie who was my dad's main care giver. Mark Stevens

Always Best Care (ABC) is truly the BEST! My father has Alzheimer's Disease and requires 24/7 care. I live 800 miles away, so it is very difficult for me to manage his care. ABC provides peace of mind for me knowing that they will call when there are concerns or changes with my dad so that I am always in the loop with his care. ABC has NEVER once not covered a shift if there was a schedule change, etc. ABC provides personal cares, meal preps, homemaking, transportation, medication reminders, you name it they cover it. Always Best Care is privately owned so there is a close connection with the owner Dan Chitwood 24/7 if necessary. Mr. Chitwood is actively involved with my dad and makes frequent visits to my dad's home and my dad loves him!! He treats my dad like family where his care is concerned. I am a retired RN and worked in home health for many years. I have never seen anything like this!! Always Best Care is THE BEST! Thank you ABC for loving my dad!

Dan sat down with my family and grandmother, he took his time in asking questions, never rushed us in a decision and really helped us find the best care for my grandmother. Assisted living and Memory care placement can be so overwhelming. We felt better and appreciated his time and effort in assisting us! My grandmother is 100. We are so happy she is happy! Thank you!

Dan helped my uncle with Louis Dodd, which is an awful disease where he could not remember things and he tended to see things that were not there and act out according to what he saw. Dan helped my Aunt with information about the disease and gave them options of facilities that could work with memory care patients. It turned out wonderful. Dan is always available with answers to any questions my husband and I have about my mother-in-law who just recently went through heart surgery at age 86. He is always helpful.
