John, Wendy, & Danielle

Owners

John, Wendy, and Danielle started this business as a result of their experience as a family with Home Care. As a family, we saw a real need to provide a trustworthy resource in the senior community. John ran and owned Service Oil Company for over 30 years, Wendy has been a caregiver her entire life, and Danielle has worked in the Adult and Children’s protective service field for 8 years. This is a journey we wanted to take as a family, so we could offer families support, resources, and the compassionate care in their time of need. We are blessed to be in the senior community and to work alongside all of the great community senior resources.

Rita Totzke

Client Service Director

I started my career in the healthcare field at the Muscular Dystrophy Association. I worked there for thirteen years as the Healthcare Service Coordinator. I handled all client concerns and was the MDA Camp Coordinator. From there I went to Southern Care Hospice, where I started out as the volunteer coordination for two years and then I moved up to the Community Relations Specialist for three years. Now, am the Client service Direction here at Always Best Care. I am responsible for doing family consultations, sinning on new clients, doing home visits, and handling any concern for the client. I also do marketing and ALP placements. In my spare time I enjoy reading, fun in the sun, cheering on the Michigan State Spartans and spending time with my family. I have three beautiful grandchildren, who are the light of my life.

Heather Putnam

Lead Scheduler

Hi, my name is Heather Putnam and I am a scheduler here at Always Best Care. I have been a CNA since 2012 and with that I have work in Nursing homes, Rehab facilities, Psych hospital, and I have done home care with Always Best Care as well.

I love Scheduling with Always Best Care because I know that what I do can make a difference in someone’s life when we send them a caregiver to help with the clients daily needs.

Sandra Kazmierczak

Scheduler

My name is Sandy and I am a scheduler with Always Best Care Michiana. I started my patient care at Memorial Hospital, when I was 13. I received my CNA back in 1987, and I started out doing homecare and filling in at a local nursing home. I worked as an Office Manager and Lead Surgical Assistant with Dr. Fairchild for over 13 years, until he relocated to Elkhart, Indiana. In addition, I was employed with St. Joseph Hospital PRN on the medical and surgical floor. I have worked in the ER, Cardiac care, ICU, SICU, Orthopedics, and Oncology. I love my position with Always Best Care and I love sharing my experience with anyone who needs help or is willing to learn. I spend my time off with my family and friends. I am married to an amazing man and I have 2 children, a son and a daughter, who are the light of my life.

Becki Karczewski

Administrative Assistant

My name is Becki Karczewski and I am the Administrative Assistant with Always Best Care Michiana. I received my BS in Business from Indiana University South Bend with concentration in Human Resources/Labor Relations and Business Administration. I was most recently employed as the Human Resources Director for a Continuing Care Retirement Community. I enjoyed working with both the staff and residents.
