Caregiving Essentials is a complimentary workshop open to the entire family, empowering caregivers with the knowledge and coping skills needed to effectively manage the day-to-day challenges of caring for a loved one with memory impairment, Alzheimer’s disease, or a related dementia.
Receive an overview of dementia and Alzheimer’s disease, including the continuum of changes that occur over the course of the disease
Discuss effective strategies to communicate with persons in the early to late stages of dementia and Alzheimer’s disease
Learn adaptable techniques to help manage challenging behaviors that can be present in persons with dementia and Alzheimer’s disease
Process the emotional impact of caregiving and how to cope with challenging behaviors
Develop a plan to reduce stress and take care of yourself
