Owner and Administrator
My name is Diane Mathis, my Husband Bill Mathis and I started Always Best Care over 10 years ago in San Diego, California. I am a Mother of six and grandmother of 3. I was born and raised in San Diego, and have been a nurse for nearly 30 years with most of my experience in Physical Rehabilitation and Home Health. I enjoy providing exceptional care to my patients by employing only the most caring and educated staff. As a Nurse and having an aging parent and family members myself, I have experienced both sides of caring for and educating our senior population. I personally understand the difficulties that come with making life changing decisions for our patients and their families. Our goal is to be a source of information as well as caring for your loved one’s healthcare needs.
My Name is Bill Mathis. Diane and I have owned and operated ABC San Diego for more than 10 years. My previous career was in Information Technology as a Chief Technology Officer for more than 20 years. I found the senior industry to be a lot more satisfying and heartwarming that I sometimes wonder why I took the long way around.
I oversee the business from keeping us Medicare compliant to bringing in new Insurance companies. I network a lot in San Diego and Always Best Care is a name most have heard.

Bill joined our Care Team with 25 years of clinical practice in the field of Physical Therapy, bringing with him a background in business, and experience in management.
Following a career as a Mobile Intensive Care Paramedic, Bill enrolled in and graduated from Thomas Jefferson University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Physical Therapy. Settling in San Diego he began employing a Holistic approach to patient care, with consideration of the Triune: Mind, Body and Spirit.
As the Clinical Manager at ABC he is responsible for collaborating effectively with his other team members to ensure optimal coordination of care for all active Home Health cases. In addition, he will assist in designing and implementing measurements to monitor and improve processes for effectiveness and quality.
Home Health Intake Specialist
Hello my name is Vianna and I have been with Always Best Care for 2 Years. I always knew I wanted to be in the health care industry and help people in need; soon after high school, I graduated from Kaplan College and was certified as a Patient Care Assistance Technician. I cared for clients as a Certified Nursing Assistant for 7 years and was promoted to the Home Health Department as an intake specialist. I thoroughly enjoy coordinating quality care for our clients through our team of skilled professionals, and take great care in managing these schedules to ensure a smooth and prompt experience for each patient.
Client/Care & Service Coordinator
My Name is Claudia Armenta, I am a Bilingual (English/Spanish) “Client/care & service coordinator at “Always Best Care Senior Services!” I have over 12+ years of experience in client/customer service/management and may I say that I couldn’t be happier with my career choice. I am a mother certified Medical Assistant, I have worked and volunteered in Medical clinics. Here at Always Best Care Senior Services, I make sure I assist in placing each client with the Best care provider to match the needs of the service plan and the compatibility to build a lasting caring relationship for both.
Billing and Payroll Specialist
My name is Jerry Bond, and I am the Billing and Payroll Specialist for Always Best Care: non-medical. I have been a part of the ABC family for over 5 years. My job is to make sure that your account is accurate Always so that you have one less thing to worry about. I understand the importance of assisting you with your financial concerns and work hard with the staff to provide you with the best possible experience you can have with non-medical in-home care. In my off time I enjoy being with my family and my dog Mickey.
My name is Anita and I am a Community Liaison. I have been in the senior health care industry for 25 years. I work with clients and their families to determine the best solution to their current needs and situations. I can provide clients living at home with non-medical caregivers who can assist with all acts of daily living. In the event a client is no longer able to live safely alone in their home, Always Best Care offers free Assisted Living Placement services. There are over 700 different senior living locations throughout San Diego, it is my goal to match my clients with the most appropriate living option based on their individual needs, desires, and budget. I take pride that I am one of the few placement agents in San Diego that personally tours clients and their families. We will visit different communities to help you make an informed decision on which senior housing option is best suited for you or your loved one. I look forward to working hard to help you find the best solution for you and your family!
Nancy has a passion for helping seniors and their families. She is committed to learning about each family and helping them find senior communities that best match their needs and budget.
Nancy earned a Bachelors in Business from California State University San Marcos. She enjoys using her business skills to help families evaluate care communities, so they can make educated decisions about senior housing options in San Diego.
Nancy will share with you her knowledge about the different types of senior communities, e.g., independent living, assisted living, memory care, continuum care, board & care, month-to-month, buy-in, etc. She will call communities on your behalf for up-to-date quotes and room availability. If you would like, Nancy will schedule tours for you and join you on tours.
Looking for a senior community can be challenging. Nancy will work as your advocate and help you make well-informed, compassionate decisions.
Director of Marketing
Eleazar Silva is the Director of Marketing for Always Best Care Senior Services. Eleazar has been in the Health Care field in San Diego for over eighteen years. He began his career as a Certified Nurse Assistant in a Skilled Nursing Facility. He later continued his career as Director of Social Services for adults in Skilled Nursing Facilities for fourteen years. He transitioned into the Marketing field in a Skilled Nursing Facility while he used his Certified Nurse Assistant and Social Services experiences to his advantage to better understand and serve his community. Eleazar holds a B.A in Health Care Administration and currently on his way in completing his Masters in Health Care Administration and Informatics. Eleazar is family oriented and enjoys fun activities with his family as well as volunteering in local community events, helping adults with disabilities and directing people with community resources.
