“Writing a review for service received is never an easy task especially where it involves service provided to a loved one. But where service received becomes an overwhelmingly pleasant experience, the task becomes an easier one. Such is the feeling I have as I look back at the almost three years of care my late husband received from the caregivers provided by the Veterans Administration through the Always Best Care Agency. Of special mention was a very nice lady by the name of Claudette LaCaille, a pre-school teacher by profession who was one of the caregivers that unselfishly cared for him. Not only did she patiently attend to his needs—she provided a genuine companionship to him and great comfort and understanding to me. It made this painful period of my life bearable and easier to accept and cope with. I am also very grateful to the agency’s owner, Nguyen Phuong, for granting my request to send caregivers who could come consistently on a regular schedule. It made him feel like familiar friends were visiting him on a regular basis. “Caring for my senior dad with dementia was a challenge as a single mom. It was hard to leave him to take care of my kids’ needs and my occasional out of town work, but Always Best caregivers were wonderful. Their help enable me to feel confident in keeping my dad at home where he could be most comfortable. They really lifted a lot of burden from me and were very gentle and attentive. “My dear 96 year old independent mother lived alone by her strong desire to be autonomous and was unable to get out on her own. I lived 2 hours away by plane. I would come down once a month for a week to get her stocked up on food, be a companion, get her out and various tasks. She balked at outside assistance. However with gentle understanding by Phoung the director she consented to have a helper from Always best care one day a week. These hardworking and caring young assistants cleaned house, would run errands, help with bathing, give friendship, do laundry, anything needed. Although she balked at first and would only grudgingly accept help, she did. And we could increase the visits. I knew with confidence that she had eyes on her several times a week and anything untoward would be communicated to me. What relief, calm, reassurance that my mother was watched over with kindness and gentleness. Phoung would work with us as we needed to modify any schedule. Her agency was a lifeline for my mom and her family. I highly recommend this agency…….there is a humanity and respect that permeates the care and it is affordable, which we needed.”
