Home Care In Inglewood, CA

Home Care Inglewood, CA

They say that your golden years are the best years of your life. For most older Americans, that's how it should be - a time to relax, reflect, and live life in a familiar place. After all, senior citizens in the U.S. have worked tirelessly to build a better economy, serve their communities, and raise families.

However, as seniors grow older, completing daily tasks like showering and enjoying activities such as visiting the historic Centinela Adobe gets harder without someone by their side. Unfortunately, many older Americans aren't able to rely on their adult children for help. The reality in today's world is that family members do not have the skills or time to dedicate to caring for their parents. That's where Always Best Care Senior Services comes in.

Our in-home care services are for people who prefer to stay at home as they grow older but need ongoing care that family or friends cannot provide. More and more older adults prefer to live far away from long-term, institutionalized facilities and closer to the place where they feel most comfortable - their home. “My dad came home from the hospital, then to hospice care for 4 months, then passed at home. Carrie helped our family during multiple transitions of his care. She is professional and efficient, but also compassionate and empathic. She was a core contact for our family from in- and out-of town, and always responded quickly to calls, emails or txts. Dad's caregiver needs and schedules were ever-changing and Carrie was always able to adjust, helping us to coordinate needs from hospice and family. We are so thankful Dad was able to spend his last months at home. We continue to use Carrie’s services for our mom. The caregivers are trained well and often became friends to my folks. I highly recommend Carrie’s services.”

“Always Best Care was there for us after my wife's surgery. We had a caregiver come each day for two weeks to help bath, feed, walk, and tidy the house during working hours so that my wife was not alone. Our caregiver Naomi was a God sent and so delightful. I often overheard my wife and Naomi singing together. What a joy! Thank you Carrie and ABC Senior Services for making this service available to Beach Cities.”

“I would highly recommend Always Best Care Senior Servicesto help you navigate the care of your loved ones in their senior years of need. We called them when we found out my 92 year old mother in law was due to be released from the hospital but clearly not able to care for herself upon her release. It was a stressful situation but carrie knew exactly the right questions to ask and heard our needs and pointed us in the right direction with all that needed to be done. She set up a call with hospice who arranged for all necessary equipment to be delivered in less than a 24 hour period. She also set up 3 very competent experienced care givers to be at the home in that same 24 hour period. The speed and professionalism in which this all happened could not have handled any better in my opinion. Working with Carrie at Always Best Care Senior Services put our minds at ease and got everything set up for us to care for my mother in law. Carrie was hands on in meeting with us and introducing the care givers and involved with speaking to doctors and hospice and everyone involved with my mother in laws care. She made a highly stressful time much more manageable and guided us every step of the way. She also followed up and made sure all that was supposed to be done was being taken care of. You are in good hands when calling on them for your loved ones care. I am happy to speak to anyone directly if you would like to ask any questions I give my permission for Always Best Care to give my personal phone number out to speak to anyone who is considering using their services.”

“We have had 24/7 care for my mother with ABC for over 2 years. The care and compassion they showed for her really touched my heart. I have had to ask for last minute help when another caregiver (not from ABC) could not show up for a shift, Carrie and staff always came through for me. She has always been available to work out problems and last minute requests, I can't say enough about how important that has been to me when I live out of state.I have really been able to rely on their judgement once they got to know my moms likes and needs, they always tried to match her with a caregiver that she would also feel comfortable with personally. The caregivers were long term, they did not come and go, mom really became attached and appreciated them. The caregivers speak highly about Carrie as their employer, they have mentioned to me they really feel like she cares and looks after them as well. Touches like Loli dropping by for a visit to chat with mom, or remembering her birthday with a bunch of flowers was so great. I would definitely recommend!”

“We are deeply grateful to Carrie and to two of the ABC caregivers in particular, María Flores and Soledad, for their professionalism, dedication and superb service over the course of nearly two years. They provided coverage on evening shifts on weekends and some weekdays —as well as on occasional overnight shifts— for my mother who was in the early-to-moderate stages of Alzheimer’s. (We recently moved her into an assisted living facility.) Because our need for ABC's services was sporadic and variable, Carrie and her staff often had to juggle quite a bit to accommodate us — for which we are grateful. Occasionally we’d be assigned a caregiver who wasn’t the best fit but Carrie was always responsive to our concerns and would work with us to find a different caregiver. We also appreciate the “added value” that Loli brought to the table — her overall expertise on elder care, knowledge about related resources, and guidance on how to make our home safer for my mother. We are pleased to highly recommend Carrie and ABC for your in-home eldercare needs.”

She was very detail-oriented in acquiring the necessary info from us, and helped us to find a few places with availability that we could visit. I very much appreciated her knowledge of so many various communities, her professionalism, her efficiency, and the wide range of items that she suggested we consider, that we may not have thought of on our own. I would highly recommend her placement services.”

What is Non-Medical Senior Care in Inglewood, CA?

lm-check

Home is where the heart is. While that saying can sound a tad cliche, it is especially true for many seniors living in America. When given a choice, older adults most often prefer to grow older at home. An AARP study found that three out of four adults over the age of 50 want to stay in their homes and communities as they age.

lm-check

When you begin to think about why, it makes sense. Home offers a sense of security, comfort, and familiarity.

lm-check

The truth is, as we age, we begin to rely on others for help. When a family is too busy or lives too far away to fulfill this role, in-home senior care is often the best solution. Home care services allow seniors to enjoy personal independence while also receiving trustworthy assistance from a trained caregiver.

lm-check

At Always Best Care, we offer a comprehensive range of home care services to help seniors stay healthy while they get the help they need to remain independent. As your senior loved one gets older, giving them the gift of senior care is one of the best ways to show your love, even if you live far away.

Respite Care

Respite Care Services

According to AARP, more than 53 million adults living in the U.S. provide care to someone over 50 years old. Unfortunately, these caregivers experience stress, exhaustion, and even depression. Our respite care services help family caregivers address urgent obligations, spend time with their children, and enjoy nearby activities. Perhaps more importantly, respite care gives family members time to recharge and regroup. Taking personal time to de-stress reduces the risk of caregiver burnout. So, if you've always wanted to eat at the local Restaurant or visit Beach Boys Historic Landmark, don't feel bad. Doing so is great for both you and your loved one.

At the end of the day, our goal is to become a valuable part of your senior's daily routine. That way, we may help give them the highest quality of life possible. We know that staying at home is important for your loved one, and we are here to help make sure that is possible.

If you have been on the fence about non-medical home care, there has never been a better time than now to give your senior the care, assistance, and companionship they deserve.

Aging in Place: The Preferred Choice for Most Seniors

While it's true that some seniors have complicated medical needs that prevent them from staying at home, aging in place is often the best arrangement for seniors and their families. With a trusted caregiver, seniors have the opportunity to live with a sense of dignity and do so as they see fit - something that is unavailable to many older people today.

In-home care makes it possible for millions of seniors to age in place every year. Rather than moving to a strange nursing home, seniors have the chance to stay at home where they feel the happiest and most comfortable.

Here are just a few of the reasons why older men and women prefer to age at home:

How much does a senior's home truly mean to them?

A study published by the American Society on Aging found that more than half of seniors say their home's emotional value means more than how much their home is worth in monetary value. It stands to reason, then, that a senior's home is where they want to grow old.

With the help of elderly care in Inglewood, CA, seniors don't have to age in a sterilized care facility. Instead, they can age gracefully in the place they want to be most: their home. In contrast, seniors who move to a long-term care facility must adapt to new environments, new people, and new systems that the facility implements. At this stage in life, this kind of drastic change can be more harmful than helpful.

Institutional care facilities like nursing homes often put large groups of people together to live in one location. On any given day, dozens of staff members and caregivers run in and out of these facilities. Being around so many new people in a relatively small living environment can be dangerous for a seniors' health and wellbeing. When you consider that thousands of seniors passed away in nursing homes during the COVID-19 pandemic, opting for in-home care is often a safer, healthier choice for seniors.

Aging in place has been shown to improve seniors' quality of life, which helps boost physical health and also helps insulate them from viral and bacterial risks found in elderly living facilities.

For many seniors, the ability to live independently with assistance from a caregiver is a priceless option. With in-home care, seniors experience a higher level of independence and freedom - much more so than in other settings like a nursing home. When a senior has the chance to age in place, they get to live life on their own terms, inside the house that they helped make into a home. More independence means more control over their personal lives, too, which leads to increased levels of fulfillment, happiness, and personal gratification. Over time, these positive feelings can manifest into a healthier, longer life.

More independence, a healthier life, and increased comfort are only a few benefits of aging in place. You have to take into consideration the role of cost and convenience. Simply put, it's usually easier and more affordable to help seniors age in place than it is to move them into an institutional care facility. According to the US Department of Housing and Urban Development, seniors who age in the comfort of their homes can save thousands of dollars per month.

In-home care services from Always Best Care, for instance, are often less expensive than long-term solutions, which can cost upwards of six figures per year. To make matters worse, many residential care facilities are reluctant to accept long-term care insurance and other types of payment assistance.

With Always Best Care's home care services, seniors and their families have a greater level of control over their care plans. In-home care gives seniors the chance to form a bond with a trusted caregiver and also receive unmatched care that is catered to their needs. In long-term care facilities, seniors and their loved ones have much less control over their care plan and have less of a say in who provides their care.

 Elderly Care Inglewood, CA

Affordable Care

In-home care is a valuable resource that empowers seniors to age in place on their own terms. However, a big concern for many families and their loved ones is how much in-home care costs. If you're worried that in-home care is too expensive, you may be pleasantly surprised to learn that it is one of the most affordable senior care arrangements available.

Typically, hiring an Always Best Care in-home caregiver for a few hours a week is more affordable than sending your loved one to a long-term care facility. This is true even for seniors with more complex care needs.

At Always Best Care, we will work closely with you and your family to develop a Care Plan that not only meets your care needs, but your budget requirements, too. Once we discover the level of care that you or your senior need, we develop an in-home care plan that you can afford.

In addition to our flexible care options, families should also consider the following resources to help offset potential home care costs:

If your loved one qualifies, Medicaid may help reduce in-home care costs. Review your CA's Medicaid program laws and benefits, and make sure your senior's financial and medical needs meet Medicaid eligibility requirements.
Attendance and aid benefits through military service can cover a portion of the costs associated with in-home care for veterans and their spouses.
Many senior care services like in-home care are included in long-term care insurance options. Research different long-term care solutions to find a plan that provides coverage for senior care.
Home care can be included as part of a senior's private insurance plan. Read over your loved one's insurance policy carefully or speak with their insurance provider to determine if in-home care is covered.
Depending on the life insurance plan, you may be able to apply your policy toward long-term care. You may be able to use long-term-care coverage to help pay for in-home elderly care.
 Senior Care Inglewood, CA

Compassionate Care. Trusted Caregivers.

When you or your senior loved one needs assistance managing daily tasks at home, finding a qualified caregiver can be challenging. It takes a special kind of person to provide reliable care for your senior loved one. However, a caregiver's role involves more than meal preparation and medication reminders. Many seniors rely on their caregivers for companionship, too.

Our companion care services give seniors the chance to socialize in a safe environment and engage in activities at home. These important efforts boost morale and provide much-needed relief from repetitive daily routines. A one-on-one, engaging conversation can sharpen seniors' minds and give them something in which to be excited.

At Always Best Care, we only hire care providers that we would trust to care for our own loved ones. Our senior caregivers in Inglewood, CA understand how important it is to listen and communicate with their seniors. A seemingly small interaction, like a short hug goodbye, can make a major difference in a senior's day. Instead of battling against feelings of isolation, seniors begin to look forward to seeing their caregiver each week.

Understanding the nuances of senior care is just one of the reasons why our care providers are so great at their job.

Unlike some senior care companies, our caregivers must undergo extensive training before they work for Always Best Care. In addition, our caregivers receive ongoing training throughout the year. This training ensures that their standard of care matches up to the high standards we've come to expect. During this training, they will brush up on their communication skills, safety awareness, and symptom spotting. That way, your loved one receives the highest level of non-medical home care from day one.

Assisted Living Referral Services

While it's true that many seniors prefer to age at home, sometimes in-home care isn't the best fit. For those seniors and their families, choosing an assisted living facility makes more sense. Unfortunately, finding the optimal care facility is easier said than done in today's day and age. That's when Always Best Care's assisted living referral services begin to make a lot of sense.

Assisted living is a form of housing intended for seniors who require varying degrees of medical and personal attention. Accommodations may include single rooms, apartments, or shared living arrangements. Assisted living communities are typically designed to resemble a home-like environment and are physically constructed to encourage the independence of residents.

Respite Care Inglewood, CA

At assisted living communities, seniors receive help with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and eating. They may also benefit from coordination of services with outside healthcare providers, and monitoring of resident activities to ensure their health, safety, and well-being. Caregivers who work at assisted living communities can also provide medication administration and personal care services for older adults.

Other services offered within assisted living communities can include some or all of the following:

  • Housekeeping
  • Laundry
  • Recreational Activities
  • Social Outings
  • Emergency Medical Response
  • Medication Monitoring
  • Family Visitation
  • Personal Care
 Caregivers Inglewood, CA

At Always Best Care, our representatives can match your senior's emotional, physical, and financial needs with viable assisted living communities nearby. Results are based on comparative data, so you can select the best choice for you or your loved one.

Always Best Care works closely with local senior living communities to gain valuable knowledge that we then use to help seniors and their loved ones make informed decisions. This information can include basic care and rent, resident availability, and services provided. Because Always Best Care is compensated by these communities, we provide senior living referral services at no extra cost to you.

Some of the most popular assisted living communities to consider in our area include the following:

  • Centinela Assisted Living Centre
  • House of Itai To Life Adult
  • Senior Care Center
  • Century Skilled Nursing Care
  • Inglewood Health Care Center
  • Eye Quality Care Home
Home Care Inglewood, CA

For many seniors, moving into a senior living community revolves around how and when they want to make a transition to more involved care. Some seniors are more proactive about transitioning to independent living. Others choose to remain home until their care needs or other requirements are satisfied. Remember - our staff is here to help. Contact our office today to learn more about assisted living communities and how we can find a facility that exceeds your expectations.

The looming completion of a new NBA arena — along with a trio of major sports events planned — is spurring more real estate demand in Inglewood, California, next to Los Angeles.

The Los Angeles Clippers expect to wrap up construction this summer on the nearly $2 billion Intuit Dome in Inglewood, a venue that's expected to play host to the 2026 NBA All-Star Game, the NBA confirmed at a press event Tuesday at the site. Industry professionals have said the arena's completion is critical for the 2028 Olympics planned for greater Los Angeles, with the new venue serving as a host for competitions.

Intuit Dome's neighbor, the roughly $5 billion SoFi Stadium, will also host Olympic events, about one year after it hosts the 2027 Super Bowl.

"There's no city in the history of the world that's had three international events in three consecutive years," Inglewood Mayor James Butts said Tuesday.

The international sporting events — along with regular season games, concerts and other live shows — are spurring more demand for hotels and retail in Inglewood, Butts told CoStar News after the press event. Inglewood is roughly 11 miles southwest of downtown Los Angeles.

There are a handful of hotel projects in various stages of development in response to a rise in visitors drawn by the city's two newest arenas, according to Butts. Last year's concerts from Beyonce and Taylor Swift alone brought 720,000 people to Inglewood, Butts said, while the NBA All-Star Game is expected to generate $350 million in economic activity.

"We're making [Inglewood] a greater tourist destination so that we can capture a lot of tourist dollars for the events that are coming to, what we believe, is the sports epicenter of California," Butts said.

SoFi Stadium and Intuit Dome have supercharged the city of Inglewood where property values have tripled and hundreds of millions of dollars in property sales have occurred in recent years, Butts said.

SoFi Stadium delivered in 2020 within billionaire developer Stan Kroenke's nearly 300-acre Hollywood Park mixed-use development that has yet to complete construction, with roughly 890,000 square feet of retail and creative office space in the works alongside two newly-opened apartment complexes.

The planned 17,700-seat Intuit Dome started construction in September 2021 and topped out in March 2023. The dome is expected to feature multiple basketball courts, a medical and training facility, an 80,000-square foot outdoor plaza and a nearly 1-acre video board that's billed as the "largest-ever double-sided halo display in an arena setting," according to the project's website.

The arena's construction created 7,000 jobs and is expected to inject $260 million in annual economic activity to Inglewood when it's finished, according to the project's website.

Clippers owner and former Microsoft executive Steve Ballmer said the Intuit Dome will offer "the pinnacle" basketball experience on Earth.

After an exciting day of watching the Los Angeles football team play at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, it’s time to head home. Make it back safely with these transportation options in our Gameday City Guide.

Transit

Los Angeles Metro Rail serves the entire county, including Inglewood, with its Metro lines. On game days, take the Metro C line and get off at Hawthorne/Lennox station. From there, Metro offers an Express shuttle service to the stadium.

Municipal transit agency GTrans offers an option on Sunday game days, when it runs the 7X stadium express from Harbor Gateway Transit Center for $4 per round trip. Park and ride to the stadium every 30 minutes starting at 8:30 a.m. After the game, buses leave the stadium until 8:15 p.m., except for when it’s a night game, in which case they run until 10:30 p.m.

Another agency, Torrance Transit, also offers a $4 round-trip ride between the Harbor Gateway Transit Center and the stadium. The first bus leaves the transit center three hours before the game starts, and the last leaves 30 minutes before. After the game ends, buses offer return service for up to 90 minutes.

Finally, the city of Inglewood operates a park and ride program that allows you to book your parking online, and then take a shuttle to and from the stadium. Choose from six locations to park, and then board one of the shuttle buses that runs every 15 minutes. After the game, shuttle buses pick up at the stadium every 15 minutes, starting at the end of the third quarter, and return to parking locations.

Rideshare and taxi

If you use a rideshare service or taxi to come to the game, the drop-off location is on the northbound curb lane on Kareem Court. Your driver must access Kareem Court via westbound Pincay Drive.

After the game, the designated pickup area is on Kareem Court and Manchester Boulevard.

Parking

If you want to drive and park, give yourself plenty of time to avoid traffic and crowd delays. Stadium parking lots open four hours before kickoff, so come early to tailgate or to attend the pregame party in the casino parking lot next to the stadium.

Visit the team website to buy your parking pass online. You must have a prepaid pass, or you will be turned away. Review the stadium’s parking maps to ensure that you’re using the designated roads to get to your assigned lot.

You may use accessible parking only with a valid state-issued ADA parking placard or license plate.

After the game, if you have car troubles, text a brief description of the issue and location to 424-541-9222. The stadium will send a team to fix the issue or connect you with a repair service.

Remember if you are drinking at the game, plan for a sober ride home!

Bicycles and skates

The stadium encourages healthy transportation options, such as bicycles and inline skates. Lock your bike to one of the racks outside the stadium, as it is not allowed on the plaza. As for skates, you can store them under your seat during the game, but you must remove them before entering the stadium. Don’t forget to bring a pair of shoes to change into.

No matter how you choose to get home, careful planning and awareness will help you navigate the postgame journey smoothly. So, before leaving your house, check for gameday updates on the stadium website and social media channels, and plan your transportation with confidence.

This weekend was the official opening of the Inglewood Pumptrack that is located in Edward Vincent Jr. Park. The park is 55 acres and has been a central hub for the community and surrounding cities with playgrounds, picnic areas, a pool, as well as a place to go for sports facilities. Now, they can add one more to the list of athletic facility offerings. The pumptrack area is located between the skatepark and tennis courts. There are actually two tracks, the smaller Woodlands track, and the World Championship track.

This whole project was thanks to the work of Grow Cycling and its founder, Eliot Jackson. As a former World Cup DH racer, he wanted to bring the value of cycling to the community. The idea and vision were set into motion in 2020, and even with all of the restrictions and hurdles, it is impressive to see it complete. The city of Inglewood its Parks and Recreation are all about community and building a better quality of life for its residents. The amount of support was impressive, and it's no wonder so much was accomplished in such a short amount of time.

The pumptrack is much larger than I had expected. The area that the community carved out for this project is impressive.

Eliot was busy hosting the event, but he did get a few opportunities to enjoy all the hard work.

Eliot was giving out Thousand helmets to kids that didn't have protection. It was cool to see how stoked so many kids were to wear a helmet.

Grow Cycling Foundation was founded by Eliot and his mother.

Inglewood Mayor James T. Butts Jr. and Eliot Jackson make it official.

Big scissors for a big day

Local legend and BMX champion Anthony Freeman was on hand for the ceremony to highlight the impact cycling has had on his life and career.

The Grow Cycling Foundation is a family accomplishment.

Modest and thankful sums up what Eliot had to say to the community.

Mayor Butts shares what impact facilities like this bring to the community as well as the surrounding cities. As a resident for most of his life, he knows that the community will only grow stronger and give more members an opportunity to thrive.

Diego Pacheco continues to make it look easy at the scale.

It’s quite the statement for the 6’4” super middleweight, who checked in at a slender 167.8 pounds for his third straight DAZN-aired main event. Pacheco will face former title challenger Marcelo Coceres, who was 167 pounds for their scheduled 10-round bout Saturday from YouTube Theater in Inglewood, California.

The night marks a home game for South Central’s Pacheco (19-0, 16KOs), an unbeaten 22-year-old who has transitioned from prospect to rising contender. He has stopped each of his past eight opponents, the past six which have come since he’s joined Jose Benavidez’s gym last January.

Argentina’s Coceres (32-5-1, 18KOs) fights in the U.S. for the third time, though still in search of his first stateside win. He dropped a twelve-round decision to then-unbeaten WBO super middleweight titlist Billy Joe Saunders in a November 2019 meeting at nearby Staples Center (now Crypto.com Arena) in Los Angeles. Coceres then resurfaced in the U.S. three fights later. He floored unbeaten Edgar Berlanga in the ninth round of an eventual ten-round, unanimous decision defeat in their October 2021 battle in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The evening’s lone title fights pits Mayerlin Rivas in the second defense of her WBA junior featherweight crown versus former WBA featherweight titlist Erika Cruz.

Rivas (17-4-3, 11KOs)—a two-division titlist from Caracas, Venezuela—was 121.8 pounds for her U.S. and DAZN debut. Mexico City’s Cruz (16-2, 3KOs) was 122 pounds for her second straight fight in the 122-pound division.

Cruz dropped down from featherweight shortly after her ten-round defeat to Amanda Serrano (46-2-1, 30KOs) in their epic undisputed championship on February 4 in New York City. Her first fight back at junior featherweight came in a ten-round win over Melissa Oddessa Parker on September 15 in Tijuana.

Undercard weights:

Khalid Yafai (27-1, 15KOs), Birmingham, England, 117.6 pounds vs. Jonathan Rodriguez (16-1-1, 6KOs), Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, 118 pounds—10 rounds, bantamweight

Marc Castro (10-0, 7KOs), Fresno, California, 131.4 pounds vs. Gonzalo Fuenzalida (12-2, 3KOs), Las Vegas via Santiago, Chile, 132.8 pounds—10 rounds, junior lightweight

Jalan Walker (11-0-1, 9KOs), Los Angeles, 31.2 pounds vs. Jorge Villegas (14-1, 13KOs), Los Mochis, Mexico, 131.6 pounds—8 rounds, featherweight

Criztec Bazaldua (2-0, 0KOs), Los Angeles, 136.6 pounds vs. Pedro Angel Cruz (3-3, 2KOs), San Jose, California, 138.8 pounds—4rounds, lightweight
