Home Care In Palm Springs, CA

Home Care Palm Springs, CA

They say that your golden years are the best years of your life. For most older Americans, that's how it should be - a time to relax, reflect, and live life in a familiar place. After all, senior citizens in the U.S. have worked tirelessly to build a better economy, serve their communities, and raise families.

However, as seniors grow older, completing daily tasks like showering and enjoying activities such as visiting the historic The Arches gets harder without someone by their side. Unfortunately, many older Americans aren't able to rely on their adult children for help. The reality in today's world is that family members do not have the skills or time to dedicate to caring for their parents. That's where Always Best Care Senior Services comes in.

Our in-home care services are for people who prefer to stay at home as they grow older but need ongoing care that family or friends cannot provide. More and more older adults prefer to live far away from long-term, institutionalized facilities and closer to the place where they feel most comfortable - their home. Home care in Palm Springs, CA is a safe, effective way to give your loved ones the care they need when they need it the most.

“I just wanted to give Always Best Care a very well deserved 5 star review!! As children of seniors know, it can be a hard decision to entrust others outside of the family to provide love and care for your aging parent. However, Always Best Care of Indian Wells has been incredible in so many ways in helping facilitate home care service for my 100 year old mom. Sandra, their Care Coordinator, is an excellent communicator – patient and kind, resourceful and so very competent. Yvonne, mom’s caregiver, is loving and from our first meeting, she did those “little things” without being instructed that were important and mean so much. (Like checking dates on groceries, asking about parking so as to be considerate of the neighbors, having a routine for where to put things like mom’s keys, etc., and just focusing her attention on little things that were all about mom, etc. etc.) Moses, who installed mom’s AI devices was great as well – all smiles, so friendly and sweet to mom. And Juan, who does scheduling is the best as well….always one step ahead in communicating schedules and everything else. I am very impressed with how well they all work as a team. The most important part, though, is that mom is happy! Thank you ABC!”

“Above and Beyond I was driving in a panic from Washington to California because my mother was in crisis, she has dementia and her partner/care giver was taken to the hospital and not expected to recover. From the moment of contact while driving through mountains with terrible cell service Sandra and Moses took the situation in hand and offered solutions and managed to obtain a nurse for that very night with such short notice of only 3 hours and we needed care for 12 hour shifts. They were so compassionate and supportive and made us feel safe. Mom is 88 years old and can be quite difficult in the best of times, she really liked the nurses and wanted them to come back. Anyone needing Nursing services should call Always Best Care they are top notch. Thank you again for the amazing service!”

What is Non-Medical Senior Care in Palm Springs, CA?

lm-check

Home is where the heart is. While that saying can sound a tad cliche, it is especially true for many seniors living in America. When given a choice, older adults most often prefer to grow older at home. An AARP study found that three out of four adults over the age of 50 want to stay in their homes and communities as they age.

lm-check

When you begin to think about why, it makes sense. Home offers a sense of security, comfort, and familiarity.

lm-check

The truth is, as we age, we begin to rely on others for help. When a family is too busy or lives too far away to fulfill this role, in-home senior care is often the best solution. Home care services allow seniors to enjoy personal independence while also receiving trustworthy assistance from a trained caregiver.

lm-check

At Always Best Care, we offer a comprehensive range of home care services to help seniors stay healthy while they get the help they need to remain independent. As your senior loved one gets older, giving them the gift of senior care is one of the best ways to show your love, even if you live far away.

Respite Care

Respite Care Services

According to AARP, more than 53 million adults living in the U.S. provide care to someone over 50 years old. Unfortunately, these caregivers experience stress, exhaustion, and even depression. Our respite care services help family caregivers address urgent obligations, spend time with their children, and enjoy nearby activities. Perhaps more importantly, respite care gives family members time to recharge and regroup. Taking personal time to de-stress reduces the risk of caregiver burnout. So, if you've always wanted to eat at the local Copley's on Palm Canyon or visit Angel Cove Monument, don't feel bad. Doing so is great for both you and your loved one.

At the end of the day, our goal is to become a valuable part of your senior's daily routine. That way, we may help give them the highest quality of life possible. We know that staying at home is important for your loved one, and we are here to help make sure that is possible.

If you have been on the fence about non-medical home care, there has never been a better time than now to give your senior the care, assistance, and companionship they deserve.

Aging in Place: The Preferred Choice for Most Seniors

While it's true that some seniors have complicated medical needs that prevent them from staying at home, aging in place is often the best arrangement for seniors and their families. With a trusted caregiver, seniors have the opportunity to live with a sense of dignity and do so as they see fit - something that is unavailable to many older people today.

In-home care makes it possible for millions of seniors to age in place every year. Rather than moving to a strange nursing home, seniors have the chance to stay at home where they feel the happiest and most comfortable.

Here are just a few of the reasons why older men and women prefer to age at home:

How much does a senior's home truly mean to them?

A study published by the American Society on Aging found that more than half of seniors say their home's emotional value means more than how much their home is worth in monetary value. It stands to reason, then, that a senior's home is where they want to grow old.

With the help of elderly care in Palm Springs, CA, seniors don't have to age in a sterilized care facility. Instead, they can age gracefully in the place they want to be most: their home. In contrast, seniors who move to a long-term care facility must adapt to new environments, new people, and new systems that the facility implements. At this stage in life, this kind of drastic change can be more harmful than helpful.

Institutional care facilities like nursing homes often put large groups of people together to live in one location. On any given day, dozens of staff members and caregivers run in and out of these facilities. Being around so many new people in a relatively small living environment can be dangerous for a seniors' health and wellbeing. When you consider that thousands of seniors passed away in nursing homes during the COVID-19 pandemic, opting for in-home care is often a safer, healthier choice for seniors.

Aging in place has been shown to improve seniors' quality of life, which helps boost physical health and also helps insulate them from viral and bacterial risks found in elderly living facilities.

For many seniors, the ability to live independently with assistance from a caregiver is a priceless option. With in-home care, seniors experience a higher level of independence and freedom - much more so than in other settings like a nursing home. When a senior has the chance to age in place, they get to live life on their own terms, inside the house that they helped make into a home. More independence means more control over their personal lives, too, which leads to increased levels of fulfillment, happiness, and personal gratification. Over time, these positive feelings can manifest into a healthier, longer life.

More independence, a healthier life, and increased comfort are only a few benefits of aging in place. You have to take into consideration the role of cost and convenience. Simply put, it's usually easier and more affordable to help seniors age in place than it is to move them into an institutional care facility. According to the US Department of Housing and Urban Development, seniors who age in the comfort of their homes can save thousands of dollars per month.

In-home care services from Always Best Care, for instance, are often less expensive than long-term solutions, which can cost upwards of six figures per year. To make matters worse, many residential care facilities are reluctant to accept long-term care insurance and other types of payment assistance.

With Always Best Care's home care services, seniors and their families have a greater level of control over their care plans. In-home care gives seniors the chance to form a bond with a trusted caregiver and also receive unmatched care that is catered to their needs. In long-term care facilities, seniors and their loved ones have much less control over their care plan and have less of a say in who provides their care.

 Elderly Care Palm Springs, CA

Affordable Care

In-home care is a valuable resource that empowers seniors to age in place on their own terms. However, a big concern for many families and their loved ones is how much in-home care costs. If you're worried that in-home care is too expensive, you may be pleasantly surprised to learn that it is one of the most affordable senior care arrangements available.

Typically, hiring an Always Best Care in-home caregiver for a few hours a week is more affordable than sending your loved one to a long-term care facility. This is true even for seniors with more complex care needs.

At Always Best Care, we will work closely with you and your family to develop a Care Plan that not only meets your care needs, but your budget requirements, too. Once we discover the level of care that you or your senior need, we develop an in-home care plan that you can afford.

In addition to our flexible care options, families should also consider the following resources to help offset potential home care costs:

If your loved one qualifies, Medicaid may help reduce in-home care costs. Review your CA's Medicaid program laws and benefits, and make sure your senior's financial and medical needs meet Medicaid eligibility requirements.
Attendance and aid benefits through military service can cover a portion of the costs associated with in-home care for veterans and their spouses.
Many senior care services like in-home care are included in long-term care insurance options. Research different long-term care solutions to find a plan that provides coverage for senior care.
Home care can be included as part of a senior's private insurance plan. Read over your loved one's insurance policy carefully or speak with their insurance provider to determine if in-home care is covered.
Depending on the life insurance plan, you may be able to apply your policy toward long-term care. You may be able to use long-term-care coverage to help pay for in-home elderly care.
 Senior Care Palm Springs, CA

Compassionate Care. Trusted Caregivers.

When you or your senior loved one needs assistance managing daily tasks at home, finding a qualified caregiver can be challenging. It takes a special kind of person to provide reliable care for your senior loved one. However, a caregiver's role involves more than meal preparation and medication reminders. Many seniors rely on their caregivers for companionship, too.

Our companion care services give seniors the chance to socialize in a safe environment and engage in activities at home. These important efforts boost morale and provide much-needed relief from repetitive daily routines. A one-on-one, engaging conversation can sharpen seniors' minds and give them something in which to be excited.

At Always Best Care, we only hire care providers that we would trust to care for our own loved ones. Our senior caregivers in Palm Springs, CA understand how important it is to listen and communicate with their seniors. A seemingly small interaction, like a short hug goodbye, can make a major difference in a senior's day. Instead of battling against feelings of isolation, seniors begin to look forward to seeing their caregiver each week.

Understanding the nuances of senior care is just one of the reasons why our care providers are so great at their job.

Unlike some senior care companies, our caregivers must undergo extensive training before they work for Always Best Care. In addition, our caregivers receive ongoing training throughout the year. This training ensures that their standard of care matches up to the high standards we've come to expect. During this training, they will brush up on their communication skills, safety awareness, and symptom spotting. That way, your loved one receives the highest level of non-medical home care from day one.

Assisted Living Referral Services

While it's true that many seniors prefer to age at home, sometimes in-home care isn't the best fit. For those seniors and their families, choosing an assisted living facility makes more sense. Unfortunately, finding the optimal care facility is easier said than done in today's day and age. That's when Always Best Care's assisted living referral services begin to make a lot of sense.

Assisted living is a form of housing intended for seniors who require varying degrees of medical and personal attention. Accommodations may include single rooms, apartments, or shared living arrangements. Assisted living communities are typically designed to resemble a home-like environment and are physically constructed to encourage the independence of residents.

Respite Care Palm Springs, CA

At assisted living communities, seniors receive help with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and eating. They may also benefit from coordination of services with outside healthcare providers, and monitoring of resident activities to ensure their health, safety, and well-being. Caregivers who work at assisted living communities can also provide medication administration and personal care services for older adults.

Other services offered within assisted living communities can include some or all of the following:

  • Housekeeping
  • Laundry
  • Recreational Activities
  • Social Outings
  • Emergency Medical Response
  • Medication Monitoring
  • Family Visitation
  • Personal Care
 Caregivers Palm Springs, CA

At Always Best Care, our representatives can match your senior's emotional, physical, and financial needs with viable assisted living communities nearby. Results are based on comparative data, so you can select the best choice for you or your loved one.

Always Best Care works closely with local senior living communities to gain valuable knowledge that we then use to help seniors and their loved ones make informed decisions. This information can include basic care and rent, resident availability, and services provided. Because Always Best Care is compensated by these communities, we provide senior living referral services at no extra cost to you.

Some of the most popular assisted living communities to consider in our area include the following:

  • Pacifica Senior Living Palm Springs
  • Stonewall Gardens Assisted Living
  • Windsor Court Assisted Living
  • Luna Senior Living
  • Hallmark Palm Springs
  • Senior Living Options of the Desert
Home Care Palm Springs, CA

For many seniors, moving into a senior living community revolves around how and when they want to make a transition to more involved care. The winter storm that soaked Southern California on Monday dropped as much as an inch of rain in some parts of the Coachella Valley, with slightly less falling in Palm Springs.

The Palm Springs area received about 0.81 inches of rain Monday, according to data from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.

On Tuesday, the National Weather Service posted precipitation totals from the preceding four days that showed rainfall amounts varied greatly throughout the valley. Nearly all of the rain that fell over the four-day period came on Monday, although some areas did see small amounts of rain on Saturday and Sunday.

On the high end were weather stations in southeast Thermal and at Kent Sea Farms south of Mecca, which received 1.3 and 1.19 inches of rain respectively. In Thermal, that total smashed the previous record for rain on Jan. 22, which was set in 2010 with 0.25 inches.

Other areas to receive over an inch of rain included the Thermal Airport, the Whitewater Trout Farm and the National Weather Service's measuring location in Cathedral City.

At Palm Springs International Airport, 0.82 inches of rain was recorded, which was up from just 0.01 inches Monday morning. Thousand Palms and Palm Desert saw 0.67 inches.

Did we need the rain?

In a word, yes. National Weather Service meteorologist Alex Tardy told The Desert Sun last week that Palm Springs had only received 0.04 inches of a rain in January. That put it far below the 1.14 inches it average in the month, which is typically its wettest.

However, Monday's deluge brought the valley much closer to its monthly averages, although the area will likely still end the month receiving less usual in January.

"This rain is really much needed," said Tardy on Monday. "It may not get us over our averages but it'll get us much closer."

Storm created wet roads, but few closures

While the storm created wet and sometimes flooded roadways throughout the Coachella Valley, few road closures occurred. In the east valley, Country Club Road was closed from Adams Street to the Indio city limits. Further east, Box Canyon Road was closed from the All-American Canal to Interstate 10.

Avenue 50 at the wash was closed earlier from Washington Street to Park Avenue in La Quinta, but has since reopened.

Flights delayed, diverted

The storm impacted people traveling through Palm Springs International Airport, as some flights were delayed or diverted to other airports. However, the majority of flights appeared to take off and land as scheduled.

Airport spokesperson Jake Ingrassia told The Desert Sun around midday Monday that some flights scheduled to land at PSP were being diverted to other airports, but that they were all expected to eventually land in Palm Springs. He also flights that were being scheduled to land at other airports were being rerouted to PSP.

He added that each airline decides when to divert based on its own standards for visibility and cloud elevation needed for landing and that details about the number of diversions would have to come from airlines.

Among the impacted flights was an Avelo Airlines flight from Eugene, Oregon, that was diverted to Burbank, landing there around 12:30 p.m. That flight laded in Palm Springs at 1:44 p.m., about an hour later than originally scheduled.

About 15 flights departing from Palm Springs had been delayed Monday, according to the flight-tracking app FlightAware. That's about about 16% of the airport’s total. The delays ranged from a few minutes to nearly 2½ hours in the case of a Southwest flight to Las Vegas.

FlightAware also reported that 10 flights to or from Palm Springs International Airport had been canceled Monday, all either on Alaska or United Airlines. However, those do not seem to have been storm related. It appeared those flights were to be on Boeing 737 Max 9 planes, many of which remain grounded for inspections following an incident Jan. 5 in which a piece of fuselage blew off a plane midflight.

How were things in the rest of Southern California?

While the storm created headaches for drivers and fliers in the valley, it led to the declaration of a state of emergency by San Diego-area officials after over 2 inches of rain fell in areas, causing widespread flooding and damage to homes and businesses.

The city of San Diego received 2.73 inches of rain, making Monday the fourth rainiest day in the city's history. Eight cities in the San Diego area set daily weather records Monday, with all reporting over 1.5 inches of rain. In Campo, which is located near the Mexican border east of San Diego, 3.22 inches of rain were recorded.

Much of Orange County and the Inland Empire also received significant rainfall, including areas of San Gorgornio Pass such as Beaumont and Cabazon which both received over an inch of rain.

The highest rain totals were seen in the mountains, with Otay Mountain in San Diego County seeing 5.38 inches and Santiago Peak in eastern Orange County reporting 5.24 inches. Closer to home, Idyllwild saw 2.16 inches of rain.

What does the rest of the week look like?

The end of Monday's rain will be followed by a multiday warmup that will see the expected high temperature climb from 59 degrees on Monday into the 70s by Wednesday and the upper 70s through the end of the week.

"It's going to be mild for January," Tardy said. "It might take us all the way through the weekend, too."

That warmup will be caused by what Tardy called "buckling," in which the jet stream and the stormy weather associated with it shifts north and the Coachella Valley becomes dry and warm.

Rain and wind expected Thursday in Coachella Valley; SoCal to see multiple storms soon

February will likely get off to a wet start in the Coachella Valley, with the area expected to see rain and cooler temperatures Thursday, just days after the temperature hit 80 degrees.

The National Weather Service is forecasting a storm that it says will arrive in the area around midday Thursday and drop between a quarter and a half an inch of rain by Friday morning, meteorologist Casey Oswant said.

The rain is the result of an "atmospheric river," which Oswant said is a weather system consisting of a “river” of water vapor in the atmosphere. That system’s impacts are likely to be strongest on the coast, with San Diego, Los Angeles and Santa Barbara all expected to receive between one and two inches of rain.

Besides rain, the storm will also likely produce wind could also produce wind gusts of as 20 mph in central Palm Springs and Indio and 30 mph in the San Gorgonio Pass. Those winds are likely to be strongest late Thursday afternoon and evening, she said.

The rain should be finished by Friday morning, with the valley expected to see clear skies and highs of around 65 degrees.

That break from the rain is looking to be short lived, though, as the weather service says it is expecting another system to impact much of Southern California, including the Coachella Valley, starting on Sunday night. Oswant said Tuesday that the agency is still working to project the details on that system, but expects the Coachella Valley will see rain Sunday night into Monday.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration has issued a “key message” stating that between Sunday, Feb. 4, and Saturday, Feb. 10, an atmospheric river event was expected to bring heavy rain and high winds to Southern California and the southwest, along with heavy snow at higher elevations.

The agency said the weather could be unpredictable and impact travel conditions throughout the region and said people should pay attention to forecasts in the coming day as impacts for specific areas could vary.

Similarly, Oswant said it was too early to determine what the storm would look in the Coachella Valley and that the impact and severity of this storm would depend on how quickly Thursday’s storm moves through.

“We are still working out the amounts, but it does look like at least some rain will make it to the Coachella Valley early next week,” Oswant said.

The Best Times to Visit Palm Springs for Beautiful Weather and Great Deals, According to Locals

Whether you want to lounge by the pool or take a scenic desert hike, these are the best times to visit Palm Springs.

On the hunt for a vacation destination where the sun shines almost all year long? Look no further than Palm Springs. Located about two hours from Los Angeles by car — so long as the traffic isn’t too bad — the Southern California desert town has long been a vacation paradise, beckoning travelers with spas, midcentury homes, and colorful chaise lounges lined up by innumerable glittering pools.

“Nine months out of the year, we have the best weather in the world, though I am a little biased,” Stella Adena, owner of Rancho Relaxo, told Travel + Leisure. Adena, who’s lived in Palm Springs for more than a decade, suggests that prospective visitors not overlook the destination's cool seasons. “The fall is particularly spectacular, because the temperature can drop 50 degrees between day and night. You can enjoy the pool year-round, and then at night hop into cozy sweaters for fireside relaxation.”

Palm Springs’ tourism seasons fall into three main categories:

No matter when you visit Palm Springs, though, you’re sure to have a great time.

“Palm Springs is a surprisingly small town, with major big-city vibes in terms of prominence in the cultural zeitgeist,” Adena said. “Ease and accessibility define a Palm Springs getaway. You can be up a mountain in the morning and enjoying a hot spring sauna by the afternoon. The landscape is otherworldly, so the pictures that define your memories will be jaw-dropping."

Ready to plot your Palm Springs getaway? Here’s everything you need to know about visiting this desert oasis.

Best Times to Visit Palm Springs for Smaller Crowds

More than 14 million people visit Palm Springs each year, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t times when you can find thinner crowds in the desert.

“Summers are actually amazing in the desert, in spite of the heat,” Adena said. “Crowds are minimal, and you can take advantage of off-peak pricing at resorts. Pools are plentiful to fight the heat, or you can make easy day trips to higher elevations to enjoy drops in temperature.” One of her favorite ways to cool down? “Taking the tram up to Mount San Jacinto.”

Greg Purdy, vice president of public affairs for the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway, agrees, and adds that both “Fall and summer are the slower seasons; I think October is the ‘undiscovered’ month here in Palm Springs.”

Best Times to Visit Palm Springs for Good Weather

The good news for warm weather seekers is that Palm Springs really is a great year-round destination, as the high temperature rarely falls below 70 degrees. However, things can get a little too toasty in Palm Springs for some, especially in the summer months, when the daily highs can hit over the six-digit mark. So, if you’re opposed to sweating it out, it may be a good idea to book a trip in the fall, winter, or spring.

“The best weather in the greater Palm Springs area is from October through May,” shared Liz Ostich, owner of Farm Palm Springs, Tac/Quila, Clandastino, and Front Porch. “Some people don’t think of October through mid-December, so that is a perfect time to visit and beat the crowds while enjoying temperate weather.”

Best Times to Visit Palm Springs for Lower Prices

Palm Springs is a bit of an anomaly when it comes to common high and low seasons. In this destination’s case, for the lowest prices on hotels and flights, plus the potential to snag those harder-to-get restaurant reservations, it’s best to travel in the summer months. However, if you’re averse to the heat, or looking for even steeper deals, you can always try booking a mid-week trip during the other seasons. Even during the busiest stretches of the year, hotels tend to have more vacancies mid-week, and they sometimes offer deals to travelers willing to stay Monday to Friday.

Best Times to Visit Palm Springs for Festivals

Palm Springs has a number of stellar events to attend throughout the year. That includes the famed Palm Springs Film Festival, held over the winter months (in 2024, the event will take place from January 4 to 15), as well as Palm Springs Pride, held annually in the fall to celebrate the LGBTQIA+ community.

Travelers also make their way to Greater Palm Springs for several well-known music festivals, including Coachella, which brings together some of music’s biggest stars over two weekends every April, and Stagecoach, a festival packed with country music’s best artists, who perform across the two weekends after Coachella.

But you don’t really need to plan your visit around these well-known festivities to attend a party in the Palm Springs area. That’s because every Thursday the town hosts VillageFest in Downtown Palm Springs, shutting down Palm Canyon Drive to vehicles so pedestrians can roam the fair, digging into delicious eats, listening to live bands, and toasting to a vacation well spent alongside locals.

Worst Times to Visit Palm Springs

Again, the best part of Palm Springs is the fact that there really is no bad time to visit. As mentioned previously, the weather in the summer can get downright sweltering, so that's an important note to keep in mind. If you do come during the summer, be prepared to do your preferred activities in the very early morning hours, or close to sundown when the temperatures get a little more manageable.

“The winter months in Palm Springs provide an escape for folks who live in cold climates, but there really isn’t a season that I don’t enjoy our weather,” Purdy said, "as long as my air conditioner keeps working.”

Get ready to shred one seriously special wave at the Palm Springs Surf Club.

Think you’ve surfed the coolest waves on Earth? Just wait until you see what they’ve got going on in the desert.

The long-awaited Palm Springs Surf Club (PSSC) is preparing to officially swing open its doors to the public at the turn of the new year, on Jan. 1, 2024. And with it bring a brand new wave to Southern California. Specifically, to 1500 S Gene Autry Trail in Palm Springs.

“Opening The Palm Springs Surf Club marks the realization of a dream that was once unimaginable — catching waves in the desert. We have assembled a passionate team to create an extraordinary space that will provide world-class entertainment and bring together people from within and beyond the surf community,” Vinny Smith, the general partner of the club, shared in a statement provided to Travel + Leisure. “This team took a dilapidated park that was built in the late 1970s and created what you see today.”

The idea for the resort started to form in 2018, when Cheyne Magnusson, who helped curate and create the original wave park in Waco, Texas, partnered with pro surf icon Kalani Robb to build a next-generation wave prototype in what was previously the Wet ‘N’ Wild waterpark in Palm Springs. In 2019, they completed the prototype and invited Smith to come test it for himself. So impressed, Smith brought in hotel developers Tim and Colin O’Byrne to help create what is the final club today.

At the resort, guests can surf an engineered wave that ranges from two to seven feet, depending on just how gnarly each guest feels, which goes on for 400 feet, with the length of each ride going between seven to 11 seconds. And truly, it can be experienced by everyone from beginner to pro.

“We're thrilled to bring this unique desert surf experience to life. Whether you're an avid surfer, a beginner, or someone who simply loves to watch this spectacular sport, The Palm Springs Surf Club has something for everyone,” Tim O'Byrne said. “Surfing is a mesmerizing sport to watch, and at PSSC, the experience of observing surfers ride world-class waves against the stunning backdrop of the Palm Springs Mountains is unparalleled.”

However, even if you don’t want to paddle into the waves, you can still enjoy the 21-acre club thanks to its other water-centric perks like waterslides, ADA-accessible lounge pools, and lazy river, along with its dining venues like Amala restaurant, which will offer sustainable bites. (Guests can also choose to just come to Amala and skip the park entrance fee altogether.)

There are also three full bars on site, where guests can order bespoke cocktails or a draft beer. And anyone choosing to surf can get a low-key bite at Drifter’s just next to the pool. Guests are also more than welcome to lounge about in the private cabanas or day beds lining the river and the wave pool.

And if you’re worried about the water usage in the desert, don’t be. PSSC uses just 1 percent of the water volume required by a typical golf course while generating over 70 percent of its energy resources in-house.

Surfers are welcome to bring their own boards or rent from the in-house shop. Riding the wave starts at $100 for beginners (for a group of 12), $150 for intermediates (group of 12), and $200 for the advanced (group of 9).

Reservation stations can be booked at palmspringssurfclub.com right now.
