Always Best Care combines national strength and standards with local accessibility and personal service. We take pride in providing compassionate, professional in-home care and assisted living services in Louisville and surrounding areas. To make sure our clients receive the necessary attention and services, we assign a dedicated supervisor to each of them. We work to exceed your expectations, from helping you with your decisions to finding the best community for you.
Let us know about your needs and budget; we offer free consultation and evaluation.
Personal touch – striving for continuity
We strive to be the best home care agency – not the biggest. We know our clients and caregivers personally, so that we can create long-lasting matches. That means your loved one gets to have the same, compassionate, dependable caregiver(s) for as long as possible. Some larger agencies have over 400 caregivers and clients, and it's very difficult for them to provide such a personal touch. Of course, sometimes the initial matches aren't the right fit. But we are flexible, and will make assignment changes so that everyone is happy.
Highest quality caregivers
All of our caregivers are thoroughly screened, background checked, TB tested, drug tested, skills tested, and trained on the American Red Cross Family Caregiver program. They are bonded, and covered by workers comp insurance, and we pay all of their payroll taxes. We assign caregivers to clients based on the clients' level of care. If companionship and light housekeeping are the main requirements, someone with demonstrated skill in those areas will be assigned. If more intensive personal care is required – incontinence care, transferring from wheelchair to bed, bed bathing, and feeding for example – we would only assign a certified nursing assistant (C.N.A.) or someone with comparable experience who has also passed our skills test.
Through our membership in the Institute of Professional Caregiver Education, our caregivers are provided with the highest quality training in the core skills of caregiving as well as many special areas of focus. That includes understanding clients with Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia, and helping them cope with the frustrations and confusion the disease can cause. Specialized training is also provided on caring for clients with Parkinson's, stroke, MS, diabetes, heart disease, developmental disabilities, ALS, cancer, COPD, and many other conditions.
24/7 access and superior customer service
Our phones are answered by a live person 24/7 so you can reach us any time. Our number one priority is to respond quickly to any concerns. We'll also keep you informed in a timely manner if your caregiver(s) have an emergency or illness and can't make it to their shift – and we'll offer a substitute.
Owners Robin and Ken Helfers are both Certified Senior Advis0rs and Alzheimer's/Dementia Trainers. As such, they can provide a wealth of information and connection to resources to help your loved one live as independently as possible, with maximum safety, comfort and dignity. Our Care Managers are Registered Nurses, and they oversee our caregivers to ensure that they are following the personalized care plan. They also review our clients' progress on a regular basis, and recommend needed changes to their care plans.
We know that exceptional service sets us apart from all other home care companies. All of our team members and caregivers receive comprehensive training before being assigned to a care plan. Our standard is that "we only hire care providers we would have care for our own loved ones."
Always Best Care provides in-home care services from as little as one hour per day up to 24-hour care, and up to 7 days a week. Whatever your care needs are, Always Best Care is there for you.

I want to tell you that your company (ABC) sent a lady named Alycia to help take care of me. I’m disabled and I’m 83 years old. My daughters previously had five or six other caregivers in and out of here and none of them did anything that pleased me. She came in and knew exactly what to do. She is neat, she is clean and she is trustworthy. I just wanted to tell you how much I appreciate having someone like her to help take care of me in my home. She is a very nice person! -E.S., Louisville, KY
