Team Always Best Care began in 2009 as a way to honor our experience caring for a family matriarch who was taken by Alzheimer’s disease. We had a vision to create an organization that offers a collection of senior care services available to families across the South Bay/West LA at a moment’s notice and around the clock.

In the mid-1990’s, just outside of Sacramento, California, Michael Newman felt frustrated by the lack of resources for seniors in his community. An owner and operator of facilities for seniors, he saw many seniors and their loved ones arrive at his facilities confused and overwhelmed after trying to find the right assisted living community. This frustration eventually shaped his vision: To create a company that would serve seniors in the community by providing trusted care, compassionate support, and professional advice.
In 1996, Michael acted on his vision and founded Always Best Care. Since that time, Always Best Care has become one of the nation’s leading providers of non-medical in-home care, senior living referral services and home health care. Always Best Care was formed with the belief and agenda of taking the burden off of the families’ shoulders and putting it on our own. People with passion have made Always Best Care what it is today. Although times may change, our foundation never will.
Michael Newman believes that a successful senior care company is built on successful relationships at every level, in all directions. The things that make every relationship work make business relationships work too – caring, trust, respect, and communication. We called them when we found out my 92 year old mother in law was due to be released from the hospital but clearly not able to care for herself upon her release. It was a stressful situation but carrie knew exactly the right questions to ask and heard our needs and pointed us in the right direction with all that needed to be done. She set up a call with hospice who arranged for all necessary equipment to be delivered in less than a 24 hour period. She also set up 3 very competent experienced care givers to be at the home in that same 24 hour period. Working with Carrie at Always Best Care Senior Services put our minds at ease and got everything set up for us to care for my mother in law. I have had to ask for last minute help when another caregiver (not from ABC) could not show up for a shift, Carrie and staff always came through for me. She has always been available to work out problems and last minute requests, I can’t say enough about how important that has been to me when I live out of state.I have really been able to rely on their judgement once they got to know my moms likes and needs, they always tried to match her with a caregiver that she would also feel comfortable with personally.The caregivers were long term, they did not come and go, mom really became attached and appreciated them. The caregivers speak highly about Carrie as their employer, they have mentioned to me they really feel like she cares and looks after them as well. Touches like Loli dropping by for a visit to chat with mom, or remembering her birthday with a bunch of flowers was so great. I would definitely recommend!”

They provided coverage on evening shifts on weekends and some weekdays —as well as on occasional overnight shifts— for my mother who was in the early-to-moderate stages of Alzheimer’s. (We recently moved her into an assisted living facility.) Because our need for ABC’s services was sporadic and variable, Carrie and her staff often had to juggle quite a bit to accommodate us — for which we are grateful.
